We are based in Sunny San Diego, California and organized in 2009.
We see ourselves as a group of similar minded people who have a love of dogs and a desire to work closely with them. Our interest is in training tricks and putting them to music, allows us to work as a team with our dogs our best friends in Canine Freestyle.
Canine freestyle helps us create a special bond with our dogs as well as keeps our dogs mentally and physically stimulated. We are also building friendships with others who are interested in this sport. Above all we see canine freestyle as an activity that is enjoyable for us as well as our canine partners. We endorse positive training methods and welcome all interested people along with their dogs.
It is our goal to perform in demonstrations at community and pet events and other venues. These performances are a wonderful opportunity to share the joy of freestyle, the love we have for our dogs, and to introduce people to canine freestyle. We will hold classes, workshops, fundraisers, competitions (both live and video), and put together fun activities in hopes to continue to improve in the sport of canine freestyle.
Our group participates in video competitions and festivals with both the Musical Dog Sport Association and World Canine Freestyle Organization. We have regularly scheduled video days when members can submit tape entries in these competitions, and work toward titles.
Many people have been inspired to try the sport of canine freestyle after having seen the world-famous Carolyn Scott and her Golden Retriever, Rookie, dancing to “You’re the one that I want” from the movie, “Grease.” While this performance is an inspiration to all of us, we remember that Carolyn and Rookie have been training together for many years. At the start of their career, they were beginners. That is where we all start on the fascinating adventure that is canine freestyle.
